We are so excited to hear more from one of our longest standing preferred caterers, Front Range Catering Company! They are always so wonderful to work with, and have been blowing us away with their unique and delicious menus. We asked the owners, Patrick & Nora Beelner, some questions about the history of their company, what inspires them, and fun facts about the power couple. Read below to see what we learned.
Tell us about how Front Range Catering Company got started:
Boulder has been home to Patrick & Nora for over 40 years and in 1992 they started The Front Range Catering Company. Patrick had left a restaurant & banquet catering company, with over 15 years of experience serving the Boulder community, to fulfill his passion and become a business owner and catering chef. The Front Range Catering Company is an award-winning, full-service catering and event planning company that provides exceptional food and superior service in the Boulder/Denver metro area.
What would you say makes you stand out from other caterers in the area?
Our clients can trust us. We believe that strong relationships are built on trust and we want our clients to know that we are transparent about how our food is made, using only the freshest ingredients. We have knowledgeable staff with amazing attention to detail and the ability to adapt to all needs, and we have extensive customizable menus handcrafted from scratch to fit within any budget to ensure overall customer satisfaction. Not only do we have amazing chefs, we have an extremely talented in-house baker that specializes in desserts & wedding cakes, and can accommodate all special diets including gluten-free, vegetarian, vegan, and dairy-free. We are a one-stop shop that will handle all of the details!
What inspires your team?
Our community and Boulder’s amazing scenery is a huge inspiration for us! Our clients’ tastes and commitment to the environment inspire us every day to continue evolving our culinary offerings, following our Zero Waste principles by composting & recycling, and supporting local organizations.
What advice do you have for couples planning their big day?
This is a special time in your lives and you should enjoy being engaged and your wedding day! Pick a few of your important details and let the professionals handle the rest. After all, that is why you hired us – so you can relax and be a guest at your own event!
What other types of events do you cater for besides weddings?
We love catering any outdoor events such as company picnics or tailgates. We frequently cater at CU Boulder, Patrick’s alma mater, which brings back such fun memories!
What has been your most memorable event?
We love planning an Annual Holiday Party for one of our clients. They have so many different fun stations such as oyster bar, sushi, prime rib carving station, and an in-house made specialty desserts section!
Any juicy and fun facts about Front Range Catering Company?
A reason why the owners have such a unique understanding of hard work and the challenges of producing quality food is because they both grew up on farms! The owners also have three sons and two of them work for the company. Front Range Catering is truly a tight-knit company where all staff feel like family!
What do you both like doing in your free time?
We love to hike, spend time with the family, and check out the local restaurant scene. One of our favorite places to go in Boulder is the Farmer’s Market to shop for and taste the amazing local produce.
What are some of your favorites on your menu currently?
What a hard question! We love our Mesquite Smoked BBQ Beef Brisket and also have a sweet tooth for our delicious Flourless Chocolate Torte.
