We could not be happier to finally have a chance to work with Sara Brown Weddings on an upcoming August wedding! Just a few weeks ago, during the White Heart Project hosted here at Rembrandt Yard, we had a chance to sit down and get to know a little bit more about Mrs. Brown herself and what trends she is currently drooling over in the industry. From her childhood dreams to her love for blush wedding gowns to her incredibly infectious smile we love everything about Sara – read on to see why we feel she is such a great addition to the Boulder wedding planning scene.
Please tell us a little about Sara Brown Weddings.
Sara Brown Weddings is a labor of love that was born not only out of a love for weddings, but also a desire for meaningful relationship. I specialize in inviting, hospitable and genuine celebrations in Denver, Boulder and the mountains. My goal is to be a breath of fresh air in the wedding planning journey.
Sara Brown Weddings is a boutique planning and design company. This means that all ‘packages’ are customized based on the unique needs and wants of each couple. I take on a limited number of weddings per year which ensures that Sara Brown brides receive the highest level of attention and TLC.
How did you personally get involved in the event planning industry?
I like to say that my career in the events industry started at age seven. It was the early ’90s and my little neighborhood friends and I decided to plan a neighborhood carnival. As my mom likes to say, while all of the other kids eventually bored with the idea, I was ‘bossing’ everyone around. I’d rather say that it was my job to keep our vision fresh, alive.
All joking aside, I really think that’s when my love affair with events started. It only grew through high school and college as I planned everything from my junior prom to my sorority’s social functions to reunions for my university’s alumni department. My first job out of college was planning events for a regional health system and then a national disease organization.
What wedding trends are you loving right now?
Gosh, so many! If I had to pick my three favorite trends these days, I’d have to say naked cakes, lots of greenery in floral designs (greenery runners, anyone?!) and blush wedding gowns.
What advice would you give to a bride or groom searching for a wedding planner?
The best advice I can give couples is to look for ‘the click’. There should be a natural ease in the planner / couple relationship. You’ll be spending a lot of time with your planner and sharing what can be a very overwhelming season with him or her. From the initial consult, you should feel heard, understood and generally at ease.
We truly enjoyed getting to know more about Sara Brown Weddings and cannot wait to see how our August wedding with her comes together.
