Rembrandt Yard’s Most Walkable Photo Moments

Downtown weddings offer the most versatile photography options, without ever having to get in a car.

While there is no shortage of stunning photo opportunities in Boulder, one of the best parts of hosting a wedding downtown is the endless backdrops without ever needing to get in a car. From historic charm to urban brick to iconic marquis signs and more, our city truly offers it all. Rembrandt Yard’s location makes walking around the city and capturing some of the best downtown Boulder has to offer effortless.

The most walkable spot Rembrandt Yard can offer is just steps outside our door: The Ivy Wall & Rembrandt Courtyard. Lush greenery gives way to painted cinderblock combining natural elements with modern structure creating a surprisingly picturesque backdrop.

As you leave the property and start moving just a half block South of us, you’ll find Patterson Place; tucked between the Bohemian Biergarten and Silver Vines winery, this is a favorite spot for many. Soft lighting combined with a truly metropolitan look offers a near-secret yet beautiful backdrop. To make the space even more enticing, both sides of this hidden gem feature murals. A powerful painting from StreetWise Arts Boulder stating “Love Always Wins” covers the south wall and offers a perfect wedding day message.

Take a stroll just another half block south, and you’ll find yourself on Boulder’s Pearl Street Mall, a pedestrian mall featuring red brick paved blocks and meticulously landscaped flower beds. Each spring, Downtown Boulder plants hundreds of tulips, creating the perfect spring garden moment for your wedding day photos. Don’t worry though, even if you miss this early Spring planting, come summer you’ll find an abundance of zinnias, petunias, ornamental grasses, and more for your picture perfect day.

From Pearl Street, you can move east or west and find yourself with an endless array of backdrop options. If historical buildings and beautiful architecture are what your wedding photo dreams are made of, try capturing photos at Hotel Boulderado & the Boulder County Courthouse, just across the street from Rembrandt Yard. However, if Colorado’s natural beauty is what you seek, head west towards Boulder Creek. A perfect bubbling backdrop itself, you’ll also find unobstructed Flatiron views along the way from both structures & parks.

Finally, the Boulder Theater marquis creates an iconic backdrop with an unbeatable “wow” factor. Both during the day and in the evening hours, it makes the perfect memory for this part of your love story. Just a block to the east, this must-see stop is one of our favorites, and it’s easy to see why.
